Look and feel
As soon as we got the speakers out of the box we were really impressed by its small form factor but on the other hand the portability raised many questions in our mind about its performance. The top of the Boombox is made up of glossy plastic which looks good but is prone to scratches. The front has a metallic grid and a smart Logitech logo which lights up when the device is turned on. It has nice rounded sides which gives it a stylish look and the back hosts the power on/off key, mini-USB port and line-in (3.5mm jack).
As soon as you turn the power key ON the glossy top lights up six red coloured touch sensitive buttons. The six buttons are for Bluetooth, play/pause, volume up, volume down, forward and back.
Connectivity
The Boombox can connect to a device wirelessly via Bluetooth or via an Aux In cable which can be connected to its 3.5mm jack at the back. An Aux-In cable is provided with the device also. Just turn on the device and hold the touch sensitive Bluetooth button in order to make it discoverable by your smartphone or tablet. Check the list of devices in your smartphone or tablet and select “mini Boombox” and that’s it. Now your Boombox is connected with your device. If you are connecting it with a smartphone then you can also receive calls while the Boombox is connected to it since it contains a built in mic for telephonic conversations. You can control your playlist via touch sensitive buttons on the mini Boombox also.
Sound Quality of Logitech Mini Boombox
Looking at the small size and light weight the sound quality of Logitech Mini Boombox is impressive. We were surprised by the bass which the device was able to produce but at higher volumes the speakers starts vibrating enormously which tends to displace it from its original position. No matter which genre of music you throw at the Boombox it will produce great sound with good bass and treble. The speakers are loud enough to give you a nice experience while you are siting in a room or in a car.
Battery Life of Logitech Mini Boombox
The speakers gave us playback time of 8.5hrs-9 hrs with average volume levels and wireless Bluetooth connectivity. It all depends on the volume you play the music on and how you connect the device to the speakers since Bluetooth tends to drain the battery faster. There is no battery indicator so you always have to estimate the playback time yourself which is bit of a downer.
