Apple iTunes App store has many apps that are country specific. You can’t use those apps until your apple device is connected to a network based in that country. So for example apps such ABC channel will not work on your iPad, iPhone or the iPod touch if you are connected to a network based in a country other than US.
In the earlier post I have already explained as to how to download Apple App Store apps not available in your country’s app store. Now that you have installed such apps which is not available in you country’s iTunes store, let us know how to use them. There are some apps from Apple such as ABC player, Oscars which will not work outside US and will show an error something like this.
So in order to access these apps you need to setup a VPN or Virtual Private Network which will enable your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to run these apps smoothly.
Free VPN service setup on iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch
There are many VPN services available on the internet but most of them are paid and the rest which claim to be free doesn’t work that well. But recently I stumbled upon a free VPN service that works great with Apple devices. So follow the following steps in order to setup a free VPN for you iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.
1. Go to Settings>>Network>>VPN>>Add VPN configuration. This is to be done in your apple device.
2. Select PPTP
3. Now fill in the following details and tap SAVE
4. For the password please visit the website of this VPN provider. The password changes daily so you have to visit the website before you switch ON your VPN.
Now access the apps you were not able to access because of the location constraint. Do share below if you follow any other trick than this.
