Alienware has long been a favourite amongst gamers, but the relatively new Alienware M11x may be a little more than what was previously expected. The Alienware M11x’s exterior may look similar to the older model, but it packs a whole new punch which boasts the new laptop’s capabilities of enhanced performance set to dramatically provide a better gaming experience.

For starters, the graphics and battery life of the M11x have greatly increased. Although the 11.6 inch screen is a bit small for gaming or for watching movies, it completely supports both HDMI and Display Port, and features Nvidia GeFore GT 540 graphics. So never mind the smaller screen size, the unbelievable graphics will have any gamer fully engulfed and engaged.

To solidify this ultra-portable laptop as a gamer’s dream, the Alienware M11x also features Core i5 or i7 ULV processors for lightening fast speeds, and a booming 5.1 Surround Sound Klipsch Speaker system which is definitely an improvement on the old system. Alienware has long had a great reputation on sites for laptop reviews for providing laptops with excellent sound, but their newest system offers sounds and clarity that older modeled laptops can’t compare to.

Other standard features that Alienware M11x users will find included in their laptops include:

• 4 GB, 1,333MHz DDR3

• USB 3.0

• Windows 7 Home Premium

• 500 GB Hardrive

The only real downside present in the new Alienware laptop is its optical drive – or should we say lack there of – which can be perturbing and limiting when downloading games. Another mild complaint is the weight of the M11x. Although the Alienware M11x is in the ultra-portable category, it is a little heavier than others weighing in at 4.5 pounds. However, the design still reflects the industrial and strong and sturdy build Alienware owners expect and appreciate.

Alienware M11x Price

Overall, the Alienware M11x has proven to be a great upgrade for a laptop that already had a solid reputation. In addition to making some great hardware improvements, the M11x also offers a price improvement. Last year’s model cost $1,299 on average, but this years M11x is starting at $1,099 which means gamers are getting more laptop for every dollar.

I’ve always wanted a gaming laptop (or desktop for that matter). I love PC games, but have only ever had a laptop with limit space and video capabilities. Alienware has always caught my attention when I go browsing for dream-laptops. If I could afford it, I would definitely invest in one of these laptops. Thanks for the information, great post!

yes I agree, but even the new MSI GT660R makes the best choice if you are looking for ultimate gaming experience with a 16-inch wide glossy display.
