Accessing blocked sites such as Facebook from your colleges and offices is next to a challenge these days. Your have try many proxy methods in order reach the Facebook login page.But most of the systems allow accessing mail services such as Gmail, yahoo mail. But I think this post can prove useful to you if you have access to Gmail at your workplace.
Accessing Facebook from Gmail will also help you with the hassle of switching multiple windows for both the application. Follow the following steps:-
- Login into your Gmail account and click settings on the top right hand corner.
- Click Labs and type Add any gadget by url. Enable it and save the changes.
- Now go to settings again and there you will find Gadget tab. Click it and paste the following link “http://hosting.gmodules.com/ig/gadgets/file/104971404861070329537/facebook.xml”, without the quotes. And click Add
- Now you are ready to go, you’ll find a Facebook icon in the left bar. Click it and login into your Facebook account.
This works most of the times if you have internet connection since many of the organizations work on intranet these days. With Intranet you cannot access any of the online services like Gmail.
Please make sure that you don’t end up degrading your productivity by spending most the time on Facebook. Facebook is just a way to connect with people occasionally so using it for a long period of time can be dangerous. And for employers its better to block Gmail as this trick can give access to Facebook to your employes which is not a good. Facebook is a very addictive service so its better to stop its access in workplaces. People end up chatting with strangers, visiting profiles so its better to keep it blocked and also disallow any trick which lead to the same.
